Beautiful, warm, sunny week, we deserve it after the horrible winter we had. I’ve lived in New England long enough to know that this will not continue so I will enjoy it while it lasts.
We went to Springfield and had my two X-Rays taken of my lungs. I wondered why he sent me there when he asked me where I got my previous ones done, I told him Noble Hospital in Westfield. I know now, he is part of that group also, his name was right on the door or I would never have known.
After the trip to Spfld we went over to his Sisters house to see how she was doing. I’m amazed at how well she is doing being it is just two months since Eddie died. She was in the middle of cleaning out his room. I honestly don’t think I could do half of what she is doing so soon after my Husband’s death.
I’m feeling a lot better since I started with the medication; I still have to take the respiratory test but that isn’t until the middle of May. I hope with the meds it comes out fairly well.

I had my appointment with the Cardiologist this afternoon. Bob drove me because he wanted to get some things to fix the washing machine. I opened the door to the Doctor’s office and almost fell flat on my face. There was only one seat that was not occupied. I went over to tell Janice that I was here for my appointment, I asked her how late were the appointments running. She said about an hour, I asked if she could fit me in later but they were all booked up for the rest of the day. I took a seat and waited for about ten minutes and decided to have Janice hold my appt and we would come back in an hour. I went out to the Van and we went to Wal-mart and did our shopping then went to CVS to pick up my script and went back to the office, it was just about an hour. When I went in there were three people waiting. I was hoping that my appt fell before theirs. I waited for 30 mins and no one came out of the office then she called me. Doctor said that my Echo Cardiogram looked good, B/P was good. He asked me what meds the Pulmonologist prescribed and I showed him my list. I joking told him that I could not get the Proventil to work. He asked to see it and it took him about ten minutes but he finally got it working. I asked him what he did and he said he just shook it. I shook that thing to death and it did not work for me. Don’t have to see him until June 16th, at least all is well with my heart. I also found out I made a major mistake when I said he was having another lung scan, it’s only a chest X-Ray.

I had a quiet day until I went to the cellar to do a load of wash. I think the new hose Bob bought sprung a leak. It must have happened at the end of the wash as there was not that much water on the floor. I think it’s time we got a new washer; this one is 21 years old and has seen better days. I’m just happy I didn’t have a flood like the last time.
We are finally getting some spring weather. The trees are all pudding and the magnolia trees are already in bloom. I love this time of year more so then summer or fall.
I had a relatively good day today, breathing is good. I have been up and down the cellar stairs several times and no heavy breathing. Maybe the medication is helping.
The inhaler that I said was not working was a sample from the Doctors office. He gave me three scripts which I sent into my Pharmacy by mail. I’m sure I will be alright until they arrive. I have never got to the point where I can’t breathe at all. I get short of breath and I think I start to hyper Ventilate and make matters worse.
Happy Birthday to my baby Brother Paul, he is celebrating 71 years of life. He never misses a moment to let me know that he is my baby brother. Now this really makes me feel old. He will never catch up with me, I’m the oldest and that says it all.

I had my appointment with the Pulmonary Doctor yesterday. Have still not come up with a diagnosis. They gave me a breathing treatment and a lot of stuff I did not understand. He said I had a lung disease but to what degree they can’t tell until all the tests are done. He gave me three inhalers, one I take once a day, the other twice a day and the third one is to be used only if I really have trouble breathing. I’m having trouble using them, have to re-read the directions each time I use them. The one to be used when I am having trouble breathing is clogged or broken. The directions say to prime it if it has not been used for two weeks or more. This I did and nothing comes out, I’ll just pray that no emergency happens.
The entire month of May is filled in with Doctor’s appointments and tests of some sort or another. My Cardiologist had me take a nuclear lung scan and now the Pulmonary Doctor has another one scheduled for Tuesday. Why?? He also took an Eco Cardiogram but I won’t know the results until Monday. I’m not impressed with this guy at all; he doesn’t want to hear what you have to say. I am not one to chit chat with my Doctor in the office but I would like to tell him the problems I am having. All he is interested in is the questions he asks and nothing more. He must be a good Doctor as my Cardiologist recommended him. An example is that my Mom had asthma but he never gave me a chance to tell him that, sure hope it’s not that.
I just got a call from my friend Carolyn informing me that our mutual friend Ruthie was doing well after her leg amputation (diabetes) it’s hard to complain about ones self when you hear of someone with worse problems then you have. These women along with Ginger all moved in the same area over thirty years ago and we have stayed friends.

This keeps getting worse and worse, my Urologist’s office called this morning telling me I had a Urinary tract infection. She called a script for antibiotics.
I went to my Cardiologist this afternoon and he said I have Congestive Heart Failure. He gave me a script for Latex and took blood work, scheduled another appointment for Thursday. I know I am totally exhausted, just writing this little blog has done me in. Now I will have to google this as I have no idea of what it is.
Any input from Pat or Betty would be appreciated

This is going to be short, problem still exists but I can’t get into see my Cardiologist until Monday. Every little thing I do exhaust me and I have trouble breathing, then my hearts starts pumping what seems like a mile a minute which is an exaggeration. Just eating a light meat causes me to have difficulty breathing.
Remembering the episode of Easter when I had the flood in the cellar, thought for sure I had hurt myself in some way because of the pain. I went to the Doctor’s last Wednesday and everything is fine which I am very thankful for.
Will try to blog more frequently but will not promise until I know what I am dealing with.

Last Wednesday I woke up at 3AM and was having trouble breathing. I tried to relax but nothing seemed to help, I tried not to panic as I knew that would just make things worse. This lasted about an hour; I lied on the bed and eventually fell asleep. When I awoke I was fine but this same thing happened on several occasions. I still think it was chest congestion but not sure.
Easter Sunday started out very quiet, we had a nice dinner and then I decided to do a load of wash. About an hour later I went down to put the clothes in the dryer and SURPRISE!! The hose on the washer had sprung a leak and my cellar was full of water. I started throwing anything that look absorbent on the floor to get up the water. It couldn’t be fixed until Monday as all the hardware stores were closed. I couldn’t leave the water there so I took all the wet towels to the back of the cellar to the shower which had a drain. I then took an old mop and got the rest of the water up. Bob went down to the hardware store and got a new hose and fixed the washing machine. Now the work begins, I had to take all those wet towels and others back to the washing machine in order to wash them. Needless to say this took all day yesterday and I got no help from Bob which made me furious.
I’m having a slight pain in my abdomen and trouble with my bladder. If this continues tomorrow I’m going to call my Doctor and see if he can up my appointment. I think four months after my surgery to schedule an appointment is ridiculous. He did see me after two weeks and then in May.
I may not be blogging for a few days until this is cleared up.
